Did the Turmeric Teeth Whitening Method Work?

It's been one week since I've started the turmeric teeth whitening method! Did it turn my teeth white? or stain it yellow?

Let me just get one thing out of the way, the turmeric definitely DID NOT stain my teeth! PHEW!

If you missed my previous blog post sharing my first time experience using this method you can check it out HERE and this is the blog that intrigued me to try the natural method posted by Healthy Holistic Living

Before I get into the results,  the photos that I took of my teeth were unfortunately inconsistent (with lighting) and I forgot to take a photo on the Wednesday. So please be  mindful when viewing the photos!

DAY 1 - Thursday February 11, 2016

I took this photo the day I filmed my announcement that I was going to try the turmeric method and BEFORE I tried turmeric.  First thing's first, this photo is very bright and I'm not sure why it's so much brighter than all the other photos I took the days after (maybe it was my shirt, the sun that day or where I clicked focus). In this photo my teeth look so white, but they really aren't, so unfortunately this photo is a poor representation of the colour of my teeth before I started the method.

For the rest of the photos, I took them right after I used the turmeric paste!

DAY 2 - Friday February 12, 2016

In this photo, my teeth look more true to colour and I decided to start holding a piece of white paper to compare my teeth and hopefully see a difference.

DAY 3 - Saturday February 13, 2016

Day 3 compared to Day 2, I feel like there's a slight "whiter" difference.

DAY 4 - Sunday February 14, 2016

DAY 5 - Monday February 15, 2016

DAY 6 - Tuesday February 16, 2016

DAY 7 - Wednesday February 17, 2016

I forgot to take a photo this day :(

DAY 8 - Thursday February 18, 2016

DAY 9 - Friday February 19, 2016

DO YOU SEE A DIFFERENCE? (Click on the photo for enlarged view)

MY THOUGHTS

In my opinion,  the photos from Day 2 to Day 9, I did not see much difference. In fact, my teeth fluctuate in colour (white/yellowy/blue) due to colour imbalance.  However, in real life, I honestly do believe the method SLIGHTLY whitened my teeth (around the gums). The turmeric method is not going to give you the same results as Crest White Strips, so don't have high expectations. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative that is all natural, I'd say give this method a whirl. I've read so many articles claiming that it's a miracle teeth whitener but of course through these photos, you will think otherwise.  Maybe 1 week wasn't enough and so I plan to continue to use it and  see if I notice any major differences over the next month.  Unfortunately these photos aren't a great representation of my experience, and I apologize for that!  I hope you guys enjoyed this little experiment and if you have tried this method and had a different or similar result let me know in the comments :)

Thanks for reading!

TESTING | Turmeric Teeth Whitening Method!

Once again I am trying out a new natural method!

Someone from one of the green beauty groups I am a part of shared an article about using turmeric as a natural teeth whitening method. Of course I was intrigued and wanted to try it out to see if it actually worked. If you are interested in trying out this method WITH ME, here is the link to the ARTICLE if you want to give it a read.

WHAT YOU NEED:

- 1 Tablespoon of Coconut Oil
- 1 Teaspoon of Turmeric
- A little bit of Peppermint Oil (optional)

Mix all the ingredients together. Wet your toothbrush and dip it into the mixture. Brush the paste on to your teeth as you would with toothpaste for about 3-5 minutes. Spit (into the garbage) and rinse well.

My Winter Essentials

Where I live in Canada, it gets cold... really cold!

In this post, I just want to share with you my winter essentials to survive the real winter.

1) LIP BALM

Currently I am using this lip butter from Herbivore Botanicals in Rose. I absolutely love this lip balm because it it moisturizing but it doesn't look shiny.

2) HAND LOTION

I know that this is technically not a hand lotion, but the container isn't too big for me to carry around so currently this is what I am using as an all around moisturizer, including my hands!

Before I started caring about the ingredients in the products I used, I LOVED this hand cream. This was by far one of the best hand creams I've used! I still have almost 3/4 of the tube left but unfortunately I chose to stop using it due to the toxic chemicals used in this product. If you are not into green beauty then definitely give this thing a try!

3) GLOVES

I have a pair of North Face gloves (watch the video if you want to see mine) similar to these ones. I got mine around a year or two ago so they do not sell them anymore, however, these one above are actually better.  Not only do these gloves have grips on them like mine, they are also touch screen compatible!  I personally wear my gloves when I snowboard underneath of a thicker glove just so when I strap myself in I don't have to do it bare skin.  Aside from snowboarding, I also wear them when I drive since they have grips on them.

This pair below I still do not understand how they work. They are leather gloves that are phone compatible. Usually with leather gloves, they have a different tech compatible fabric that are sewn on to the index and thumb. These gloves however, do not have any of that! They look like regular ole leather gloves that work on touch screens... ALL FIVE FINGERS!

4) SCARVES

The first scarf I am going to show you is more for aesthetics, however it is very warm.  My faux fur scarf (watch the video to see mine) is actually pretty warm but it is super fashionable and can amp up any outfit.

Badgley Mischka - Faux Fur Infinity Scarf

This is my most worn scarf this past year. It is such a soft, cozy, versatile scarf. It is warm but not too thick, it is actually the perfect scarf if you have a very warm winter coat. This scarf can be worn all year round AND be worn in 7 different ways including a cardigan!

You can never go wrong with a blanket scarf for the winter. Blanket scarfs are perfect for adding another warm layer to your outfit but they are also great as a BLANKET of course! :)

5) SOCKS

Thick socks are an essential for me during the winter. Your body may be warm but if your feet are ice cold it's uncomfortable. This pair below from Roots are super cozy but you can definitely find cheaper alternatives! :)

6) BOOTS

During my 4 years of undergrad at Western University, I did not own a pair of good boots. Now that I have a pair, I honestly have no idea how I survived without any! Invest in a pair of good winter boots if it snows where you live. My Sorel boots are the perfect pair for me, they aren't too clunky, they are still fashionable and are super warm. I absolutely love them and highly recommend them!

7) WINTER COAT

Just like my boots, I did not have a good winter jacket when I lived in London, ON.  Stop purchasing $50 jackets that are only slightly warm, INVEST in a real winter coat if you experience a Canadian winter like I do.  After much research, I decided not to go for the typical Canada Goose that everyone seems to have these days, I purchased myself a Nobis jacket. I love everything about my coat and love how it does not look too bulky on my body. To hear more about why I love this coat and see how it looks on me, watch the video of below :)

REVIEW | ThinTea (Detox, Fat Burn teas) With Photos!

First off, I would like to thank ThinTea for allowing me to test their products out and for also sending an extra package for my best friend Rachael to try it with me.

ThinTea is a 100% natural, preservative-free tea that contains certified organic ingredients.  On their website they say in 7 days you'll notice:

  • an increase in energy
  • a lower appetite
  • a stronger immune system
  • an increase in your metabolism
  • clearer skin
  • overal health improvements
  • improvements in your body's ability to expel waste while retaining nutrients
  • a reduction in digestive upset

I can't say that I experienced all of these things but I will tell you what I did notice:

  • Reduction in bloating
  • Improvements in my body's ability to expel waste while retaining nutrients
  • Less cravings for sugary snacks
  • Loss a little bit of stomach weight

Before starting this tea, I was a little bit "heavier" than usual from eating at the cottage (photo of me at the cottage a week before I started this tea below) and going to summer parties and what not. ThinTea reached out to me at a good time, I knew I had gained some belly weight but everywhere else I was my usual size (arms, legs, etc.). To give you some background, I usually workout 4-6 days a week but there are some times especially during the summer when there are so many things to do and events happening where I don't work out for a week.

Me at the cottage in August a week before I started Thin Tea

Me at the cottage in August a week before I started Thin Tea

DETOX TEA:

I found this tea was easy to incorporate into my routine. I just made a cup first thing in the morning and had it with my breakfast. Once in a while I found that it got my bowels moving even though it doesn't contain any laxatives.

FAT BURN BLEND TEA:

I loved the taste of this tea. It just tastes like regular ole peppermint tea, however, I did find this one a little bit more difficult to follow. The instructions tell you to drink this tea 20 minutes before your dinner and for me, that is a little tough to remember. I finish work at 4:00 PM, go straight to the gym, work out for about an hour and a half, come back home, drink protein, and by that point, my dinner is ready.  I was good with following the instructions for maybe a week and then ended up drinking either with my dinner or after.

RESULTS:

With the first set of photos I am going to show you, it shows a side profile and front view comparison of my body from day 1 to day 10 (approx). I was so shocked to see how quickly the tea worked it's magic. A lot of the bloating and "heavier" stomach weight had gone down and I was pleasantly surprised!

The next set of photos are just a comparison of my Day 1, Day  10 (approx) and my last day of use (end of 3 weeks).  As you can see there is a huge difference from day 1 compared to the other two photos. However, there are minor differences between the 1.5 week photo to the 3 week photo. Personally, if I lost any more weight than those photos I don't think I would be all that healthy since I am naturally thin.

Keep in mind that I am a regular gym-goer and have never been over-weight for my size. I am sure that this tea would work differently on other people and I have seen the photos on ThinTea's Instagram where they show some amazing, realistic improvements.  If you are going to buy this tea, do not just purchase it because you want to lose 10-12 lbs. Losing weight takes discipline and a healthy lifestyle.  ThinTea does help with the progress but you must also eat clean, and work out to see major changes. They also have an app where they share some healthy recipes (which I do find are mostly vegetarian/vegan). However, I do not follow any strict diet and did not follow their recommended diet while trying this tea. With that being said, I am very happy with the results from using this tea.

If you are interested in purchasing this tea to try, you can use my PROMO CODE: "SarahTranTV15" for 15% off your order.

The one I used in this review was the Bestie Package. It came with 2 Detox teas, 2 Fat Burn Blend Teas, and 2 Tea diffusers. I gave the other half of the package to my bestie, Rach to try it as well.  If you want to hear Rachael's thoughts on the tea check out the video below.

TRAVEL | Seattle, WA.

Ever since I started watching ItsJudysLife on YouTube, I've always wanted to visit Seattle and see the places they've featured in their videos.

There were only two things that were on my must do list:
1) Visit Pike Place Market
2) Dinner at Canlis

I am happy to say  I got to do both of them :) and ended up falling in love with the city of Seattle! Such a gorgeous place and I highly recommend those of you who haven't been there to put it on your list!

Here's a short vlog highlighting those two things and other activities I got to experience whilst in Seattle.

UPDATE | My Menstrual Cup Experience + Tips (Diva Cup)

I am back with some stories and tips on my first two times of using a menstrual cup! It was definitely an experience and I am still learning how to use it but I wanted to share some of my interesting stories and tips for those of you who are thinking about switching over or are in the process of learning and still have not gotten the hang of it!

Instead of writing a detailed blog post, I highly suggest you watch my video as some of the details need a visual to explain lol. I hope this video will help you feel a little more relaxed about using it and know that you are not the only one going through with these interesting experiences!

I hope you enjoy all my "That's what she said" moments in this one!

REVIEW | 100% Pure Cosmetics

Today I just want to do a quick review of some of 100% Pure cosmetics. They were kind enough to send me some products to try out to review for you guys.

If you haven't heard of 100% Pure cosmetics before, they are an organic cosmetic line free of all harmful toxins. Their products are 100% natural, 100% cruelty-free, and 100% free of artificial colours, artificial fragrances, synthetic chemical preservatives and all other toxins. How amazing is that? To top it off, their cosmetics get their colour and pigment from fruit dyes!

Let's begin!

Fruit Pigmented Strawberry Blush

My best description of this blush is that it's a dusty pink. I find that the pigment of this blush wasn't as dark as I had anticipated. It takes a couple of applications for it to show up, but once it's been layered it's a beautiful colour. The blush does not have the greatest lasting power. I do find that it fades as the day goes on but it does not bother me to re-apply.

Ingredients:

Fruit Pigments of Rubus Fruticosus (Blackberry), Punica Granatum (Pomegrante), Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry), Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry), Fragaria Vesca (Strawberry), and Prunus Serotina (Cherry), Oryza Sativa (Rice) Starch, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil, Persea Gratissima Oil (Avocado Butter), Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Linum Usitatissimum (Flax) Seed Oil, Lycium Chinense (Goji Berry) Fruit Extract, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C ), Mica (natural shimmery mineral)

Fruit Pigmented Pretty Naked Palette

This is a great neutral eyeshadow palette! It comes with a luminescent powder, a blush and three eyeshadows.  The luminescent powder (Pink Champagne) is a great highlighter powder, it adds a natural sheen to your cheeks. The blush powder (Pretty Naked) in this palette was by far my favourite. I loved the blush in this palette a lot more than the Strawberry; it's matte, the pigmentation was much better and did not need as much layering to show up on my skin tone.  My least favourite in this palette would have to be the Flaxseed eyeshadow. Looking at the the colour in the palette it seems as if it would be a nudey-beige. However, when it is swatched, Flaxseed looks more like a pink eyeshadow. You can definitely use it for more pink eyeshadow looks or as a highlighter but because the swatch did not match what it looks like in the palette, I was not a huge fan since I was hoping it would be beige so I could use it as a blending colour for the next two eyeshadows. Toffee and Chestnut are absolutely gorgeous colours. Toffee is a shimmery, dark taupe while Chestnut is a shimmery copper colour. You can wear these two colours together or wear them alone as a one shadow look giving your eyes a natural look.

Ingredients:

Pink Champagne Luminescent Powder: Oryza Sativa (Rice) Starch, Rosa Canina Seed (Rosehip) Oil, Persea Gratissima Oil (Avocado Butter), Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Pigmented Extracts of Punica Granatum (Pomegranate), Vaccinium Macrocarpon Fruit (Carnberry), Fragaria Vesca Fruit (Strawberry), Rubus Idaeus Fruit (Raspberry), Prunus Serotina Fruit (Cherry), Prunus Armeniaca Fruit (Apricot), Prunus Persica Fruit (Peach) and Vitis Vinifera Fruit, (cabernet Grapes) and Matricaria Chamomilla Leaf (Chamomile), Punca Granatum (Pomegranate) Extract, Lycium Chinense Fruit (Goji Berry) Extract, Sodium Ascorbate (Vitamin C), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Mica (natural shimmery mineral)

Pretty Naked Powder Blush: Oryza Sativa (Rice) Starch, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil, Persea Gratissima Oil (Avocado Butter), Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Pigmented Extracts of Theobroma Cacao (Cacao), Prunus domestica Fruit (Plum), Punica Granatum (Pomegranate), Rubus Idaeus Fruit (Raspberry), Rosa Centifolia Flower (Rose Petal), Fragaria Vesca Fruit (Strawberry) and Prunus Serotina Fruit (Cherry), Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Extract, Lycium Chinenes Fruit (Goji Berry) Extract, Sodium Ascorbate (Vitamin C), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), mica (natural shimmery mineral)

Flax Seed Powder Eye Shadow: Rice Starch, Pigments of Carrot, Squash, Apricot, Peach, Papaya and Tomato, Vitamin E (a-tocopherol), Rosehip Oil, Pomegranate Seed Oil, Avocado Butter, Cocoa Butter, Red Wine Resveratrol, Vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate), may contain Mica (natural shimmery mineral)

Toffee Powder Eye Shadow: Rice Starch, Pigments of Cacao, Apricot, Peach, Vanilla, Pomegranate, Blackberry, Blueberry, Raspberry, Coffee, Papaya, Tomato, Black Tea and Acai, Vitamin E (a-tocopherol), Rosehip Oil, Pomegranate Seed Oil, Avocado Butter, Cocoa Butter, Red Wine Resveratrol, Vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate), may contain Mica (natural shimmer mineral)

Chestnut Powder Eye Shadow: Rice Starch, Pigments of Cacao, Apricot, Peach, Vanilla, Pomegranate, Blackberry, Blueberry, Raspberry, Coffee, Papaya, Tomato, Black Tea and Acai, Vitamin E (a-tocopherol), Rosehip Oil, Pomegranate Seed Oil, Avocado Butter, Cocoa Butter, Red Wine Resveratrol, Vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate), may contain Mica (natural shimmer mineral)

Mangosteen Whipped Body Butter

WOW. This was my FAVOURITE out of the whole haul. This is the natural version of The Body Shop's body butters but BETTER because these don't contain toxic chemicals. This whipped body butter is very hydrating and immediately moisturizes your skin without being greasy. The smell of this is just amazing as well.  Before I received this whipped body butter, I was just using pure, cold-pressed coconut oil. I still use this method when I get out of the shower however, with coconut oil, you have to sit and wait for it to absorb into your skin before putting your clothes on to avoid getting the oils on it.  On days where I am in a rush to head out the door, I grab this whipped body butter and it does the job instantly. I can't get enough of this product and will definitely be repurchasing!

Ingredients:

Theobroma Cacao Seed (Cocoa) Butter, Persea Gratissima Oil (Avocado Butter), Shea Butter, Organic Argan Oil*, Rosa Canina (Organic Rosehip)* Seed Oil, Aloe Barbadensis (Organic Aloe Vera)* Leaf Juice, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Extracts of Euterpe Oleracea (Acai Berry) Fruit, Resveratrol, Camellia Sinensis (Organic Green Tea)* Leaf, Garcinia Mangosteen (Mangosteen) Peel, Lycium Barbarum (Goji Berry) Fruit, Aristotelia Chilensis (Maqui Berry), Sambucus Canadensis (Elderberry) and Vitis Vinifera (Muscadine Grape) Skin, Extract of Lonicera Caprifolium Flower, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf, Origanum Vulgare (Oregano) Leaf, Thymus Vulgaris Flower/Leaf (Thyme), Hydrastis Canadersis (Goldenseal), Ethyl Alcohol (Grain Alcohol), natural Flavors * Certified Organic

Dark Chocolate Long Last Liquid Eye Liner

What I have been using as my liquid eyeliner for the past 5 years was L'Oreal's Lineur Intense in Dark Brown.  Since receiving this eyeliner, I have replaced my L'Oreal Lineur Intense for the nights where I go out or if I am going to be wearing makeup all day and need it to last.  This liquid eyeliner by 100% Pure dries so quickly once applied and does not budge! I have to be honest, I didn't think this liquid eye liner was going to perform as well as it did.  In the video below, I did a side by side comparison of the two showing you how well 100% Pure's eye liner stays on even when I rub it with water.  The only downside to this eyeliner is the brush applicator. I am not a huge fan of using a brush tip applicator for my eyeliner since I have become so accustomed to my felt tip applicator on my L'Oreal Lineur Intense, but I am sure with practice I will get more used to it.

Ingredients:

Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Camellia Sinensis (Organic Black Tea)* Leaf Extract, Vegetable Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis (Organic Aloe)* Leaf Juice, Xanthan Gum, Extracts of Origanum Vulgare (Oregano) Leaf, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Flower/Leaf and
Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf, Mica, Extracts of Lonicera Caprifolium Flower, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower and Curcuma Longa (Turmeric)

REVIEW | NUCIYA: Apoterra Skincare, Blissoma & Kaia Juicy Bamboo

Two months ago, Nuciya was kind enough to send me a few products that they carry for me to try and review (if you remember the haul video) and today I will be sharing with you my thoughts on these products.  Let's get right into it!

**CARU SKINCARE has rebranded themselves to APOTERRA SKINCARE**

APOTERRA SKINCARE (CARU) - NEROLI + IMMORTELLE FACIAL TONER

Ingredients: Neroli (Citrus aurantium) Hydrosol*, Immortelle (Helichrysum italicum) Hydrosol*, Everlasting (Helichrysum italicum) Hydrosol*, Hydrosol Blend**organic

Ingredients:
Neroli (Citrus aurantium) Hydrosol*, Immortelle (Helichrysum italicum) Hydrosol*, Everlasting (Helichrysum italicum) Hydrosol*, Hydrosol Blend**organic

I loved this toner! It is perfect for those with normal to oily/combination skin, but it is gentle enough for those with sensitive skin. After I cleanse my face, I like to follow up with a spritz of this toner. The scent is a mixture of honey and incense (sweet + spice), which is just absolutely gorgeous. Another method I liked to use was to put this toner into the fridge for hot, humid, summer days and whenever I needed to wake my skin up, this toner was perfect for that.

Because Caru Skincare has rebranded to Apoterra Skincare, this toner is actually on sale right now on Nuciya's Website here. However, if they happen to be sold out by the time you read this, here is the Apoterra Skincare equivalent to this toner.

APOTERRA SKINCARE (CARU) - ACTIVATED CHARCOAL + DEAD SEA SALT SOAP

Ingredients: Olea Europaea (olive) oil*, Cocos nuciferas (coconut) oil*, Reverse osmosis water, Elaeis guineensis (sustainable palm) oil*, Theobroma cacao (cocoa) butter*, Azadirachta indica (neem) oil*, Activated charcoal, Dead sea salt, Tea Tree essential oil*, Essential oil blend* *organic

Ingredients:
Olea Europaea (olive) oil*, Cocos nuciferas (coconut) oil*, Reverse osmosis water, Elaeis guineensis (sustainable palm) oil*, Theobroma cacao (cocoa) butter*, Azadirachta indica (neem) oil*, Activated charcoal, Dead sea salt, Tea Tree essential oil*, Essential oil blend*
*organic

This soap is geared towards those who have oily/acne prone skin and has a scent that is musky with notes of charcoal and undertones of lemon (my boyfriend and I both loved the smell).  I have oily/combination skin and still found this soap to be super cleansing and following up with a moisturizer is highly recommended. Because this soap is so cleansing, I actually preferred to use this soap mainly as a body soap. The grains of dead sea salt that are embedded throughout the soap make it a nice, light exfoliant for the skin. Once a week, I would also use the soap as a facial cleanser. My boyfriend actually used this soap so much that between the both of us, we nearly finished the bar in under a month and a half.

One of my favourite things about this Caru soap is that the packing is biodegradable, handmade with 100% PCW paper label embedded with seeds. You can plant your labels and watch it grow in your garden!

*Before you use this soap, I would recommend purchasing some sort of soap holder for your shower. Because the soap is black, it will leave black soap residue wherever you leave it (which is fine, it does wash off).*

Here is the Apoterra equivalent to this Caru soap (the label unfortunately is not biodegradable on their new re-branded soap):

Ingredients: Cannabis sativa (hemp) Oil*, Vaccinium macrocarpon (cranberry) Seed Oil*, Citrullus lanatus (watermelon) Seed Oil, Rubus fruticosus (blackberry) Seed Oil, Calophyllum tacamahaca (tamanu) Oil*, Plukenetia volubilis (sacha inchi) Seed Oil*, Tocopherol (vitamin E) , and Calendula Officinalis CO2 Extract *from Certified Organic Agriculture

This oil is geared towards those with oily, acne prone, problematic skin. I fortunately do not battle these issues and therefore, felt that I cannot fully review this product. If you have this serum, or have tried it before, please share your experiences in the comment section below for others to read. The reviews that I have read on this product have all been positive and a lot of people say it is very effective.

For my experience, I found this oil to be very moisturizing to the skin. The scent however is just a tad off-putting at first. To me, the scent is very similar to green juice; the celery, spinach, cucumber etc. My boyfriend actually really enjoyed the smell of this oil, he felt that it smelled very healthy and nutritious. After he said that, it just made me realize it's great that the oil smells like that because it just shows that their product isn't jammed with chemical fragrances to mask the natural scent of the oils.

KAIA - JUICY BAMBOO NATURAL FACIAL CLEANSING OIL CLOTHS

Ingredients: aqua, miel, sorbitan laurate, helianthus annuus (sunflower seed oil), hydrolyzed jojoba esters, glycerin, decyl glucoside, polyglyceryl-4 laurate, dilauryl cirtate, xanthan gum, cirtic acid, dehydroacetic acid, benzyl alcohol, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate

These wipes are great for many reasons:

1) They smell amazing. Imagine the fresh scent of lemons mixed with the sweetness of honey.
2) They are non-toxic, biodegradable, cruelty-free and natural
3) Even though they do not market themselves to take off makeup, they are capable of some removing makeup.
4) These wipes are great for travelling, if you're on the go, and for post-workouts.

Menstrual Cup Method?!

Guess what guys, I'm trying out another new method!

I've known about this method for a while but could never get myself to actually try it since I felt like it was a lot of work constantly washing your hands and dealing with the product in public.  However, after watching Jen from "From Head to Toe" in a video where she talks about menstrual cups, I was convinced by the end of the 14 minutes and ordered myself the Diva Cup.  If you are interested in how my experience goes with it be sure to subscribe and keep your eyes peeled for an update video! :) x

My Current Favourites!

Hey you guys!

In this video, I want to share with you my current favourites and also show you that I STILL use conventional cosmetics. I spent $ on those products and I plan to use them up instead of tossing them. I know I have been posting a lot of videos about natural products but I am not here to try to convince you to completely transition your entire collection (even though that is MY goal). I want you all to know the amazing products that ARE available and are BETTER for you. At the end of the day, I just want to inspire you to try something new and as I always say, using ONE LESS toxic product is better than NOTHING. However, in this video I will be featuring a couple products that I still do love even though they aren't 100% natural! xx :)

VLOG | Cottage Weekend

If you're Canadian, then you would know that a Canadian summer is not complete without a weekend at the cottage. A few of weeks ago, I was kindly invited to a friend's cottage where we played endless games of beach volleyball, swam in the brisk lake, paddle boarded and ate delicious meals.  Check out my vlog below for a recap at our weekend.

This year for John's birthday, I decided to give him the experience of flying as a gift.  To be completely honest, this was one of those "a gift for me to you", but I also knew he would 99.9% love it.  We had never mentioned indoor skydiving to each other or even got on the topic of it, I just happened to have a good ole friend that posts his skydiving adventures on Instagram that constantly caught my attention.  I remember a month ago, I full on crept his Instagram page looking at every photo, and watching all of his videos and that was when I told myself, YES, I NEED TO DO THIS.  Check out his Instagram here (his old account), and you'll understand what I mean. If you think his skydiving photos are amazing, and his indoor skydiving wind tunnel tricks are unreal give it some love and double tap his content and let him know I sent ya! :) I'll attach an indoor skydiving session video from his old Instagram account below but Follow him on his new account here for new content!

Flying like this used to be in my #dreams.. NOT anymore yew 😝👊

Anyways, I ended up taking John to iFly Toronto in Oakville and it was the BEST thing ever.  I highly recommend anyone who is stumped on a gift to just get them a package at iFly and they'll love you forever!  The facility is beautiful, and the instructors are great.  After my first flight in the wind tunnel, I knew I wanted to come back.  This September, I am going back for my return flyer rate and finish the 10 flights needed before you can register for training sessions to learn how to really fly in the wind tunnel! But for now, watch my video below to see our first time flying and how the surprise went.

This product has been my new daily cleanser, I've been loving it. It smells wonderful and is gentle for the skin.  The consistency of it is light yet a bit on the watery side.  I've gone through half of the bottle in about a month.  However, I find that you do not need a full pump, a quarter to half a pump is enough for my face.

PACIFIC MIST:

Let me just start off by saying that this spray literally smells like you're face planting into a bed of flowers! It smells absolutely beautiful! I use this as a post-cleanser toner and I like to use this in the morning to wake my skin up.

This is my favourite product from the skincare line.  My skin loves this oil mid week just to rehydrate. I find that because it's summer, I wash my face a little bit more than often due to sweat, and my skin can get a tad dry. Using this oil once a week has helped my skin find it's balance and it's great waking up to a soft, supple face :)

*TIP* When using this product, 1 - 2 drops should be enough but don't plan to use it by itself! You're going to want to apply this straight after spraying the facial mist to allow the oil to spread evenly across the face since the oil is pretty thick!

A non-toxic alternative to tinted moisturizer here! This product is great for days that you're running errands and you want to even out your skin tone without looking like you've applied a crap ton of make up! The only thing I recommended is applying this product with a brush, do not use your fingers because over blending will cause it to peel (weird I know).  There is a scent to this product that smells much like the facial mist. I'm not a huge fan of scented make up but I was glad to find out that it fades after 15-30 mins of wear.
